20 years ago we moved to this Valley not knowing a soul. Our kind realtor welcomed us with a Gift Card to the Apple Barrel. I walked in a stranger and left with a new family. It's been a favorite place since, to find the perfect home decor piece, a gift for a new baby, a treat of an fashion accessory for myself, and plants to brighten our home. Our weekly visit to their cafe is met with the friendliest customer service and a menu that never disappoints. The Apple Barrel represents all that is beautiful, authentic, and loving in the Schoharie Valley, and we are so grateful they've been here serving their community through thick and thin!

Nestled in Schoharie County, nicknamed the, "Breadbasket of the American Revolution," because so many troops were fed with food grown in these fields during the American Revolution, it's fitting that the this spot is where the Capital Region's original and longest running Country Store has its roots.

It's hard to miss the Apple Barrel itself, but once inside, it's easy to get lost in the rooms and aisles with all that good good country store merch in your face: jewelry, candles, knicknacks, clothing, a million fragrances of Poo-Pourri, rustic country decor, and to-die-for smelling Magnolia brand lotions and soaps fill almost every nook and cranny, and I'm here for it.
